The Cultural Dance

These pictures were taken in Bruma Flee Market in Johannesburg South Africa a few weeks ago. I was there with Vasanthan. P and Sharmini because Vasu wanted to buy some gifts before going bakc to Malaysia.
We went there on a Saturday morning and after a few minutes of browsing in the shops, i came out and saw this dance being performed, well, this is not the first time I was witnessing it though, have seen it a few times before but this was the time that I got proper shots of them with my Motorola V9 2MP camera.

There are many tribes as many of us know that exist in South Africa, I dont know which particular one this dance belongs to but it's a tribal dance. These ladies can really dance! I can certainly tell you that! There are even those who are rather big in size but they surely can shake it!
The dancing talent is in their genes I shall think, almost every black women have this gift of dancing. If you can see here, their attire is only tight's and bra embedded with beads, well, naturally, they dance without any clothing on their top! But since this is a oranized dance in a public place, they decided to weat bra's with beads! Rather creative i shall say, and they are all in their young age, I think no one is more then 25 years old.

The way the music is played and the way these ladies dance to it, its really an eye-catcher. They just seem to have all the energy to perform all this body twisting dance moves all the time!

The gentlemen playing the music in the back ground... really great to hear it, fast, raunchy stuff and they play it really well!
I will try to get more of this dance moves that's being performed in the 'Bundu's' when I get the chance. That will be really interesting and will try to upload some video's as well as it will give you the idea of the dance and the music they sway to!

cheers!

Where to?!

Crude Oil prices look to be on a up-hill and looks like there will be no end reaching the top! Because of crude oil being on the heart of everything we do/buy/make, life is on the edge for lots of people! Companies that are associated with Crude oil product's look to be on the edge as well.
Like those in the aviation industry!
My flight back to Malaysia is supposed to be on the 15th August, but I was informed last week that the flight on that day is cancelled and brought forward to the 14th August (not that I am complaining that I am going back early tough! sooner the better! haha). When I called up Malaysia Airlines office I never got any clear answer why, so, being eager, I searched for some answer in the net, and i found one(Unitravel Cape Town), lack of demand it was! So that means Malaysia Airlines is already playing smart cancelling flight's that does not maximize their earnings and off-set the fuel surcharge! Not bad at all. I am sure many airline companies are facing the same issue as well and are taking measure's of their own to compensate for the fuel price hike!
Of course they will take measures like this after scores of airline companies are in the brink of bankruptcy due tho this crude oil price madness.
Hybrid engines for jets are being developed and tested, new generation engines certainly consume lesser fuel than the current one's! Let's hope there will be faster deployment of those technologies to reduce dependency on crude oil.
That's just one needle in the hay-stack. Don't want to touch the other's now, pheww, imagine that!
So, all these while the World is dependent on crude-oil, helloooooooooo, any other alternative energy on the brink of discovery?! Please people, do something fast! I don't want to be paying RM5 for a glass of 'Teh-Tarik' in the near future!
So, where are we heading to in the near future?! Interesting!

Till We Meet Again...

July came and the stark reality struck me that my good friend and bra Vasanthan Pachiappan had to leave us me here in South Africa and go back to homeland, Malaysia. hmmm,
Yes, he had to resign from the contract work here in SA and leave earlier than expected because his father needed him, hat's off to you Vasu.
He came last November and after a 'lakker' 7 months, he had to leave on 4th July, well well, it was USA's Independence Day and Vasu's Independence from SA as well! I know he wanted to be here longer and earn more, but family call's!

Well Vasu, all this while, I really came to know you better and you are on my best of friends list already! I will be missing your company & drinks. Hope your father get's well very soon! You are one of the coolest guys I have ever met! Seriously!
Wishing you all the best in your future undertakings.

Uncle Roy and Aunty Anjalai is surely gonna' miss him much, they were blabbering about Vasu that, Vasu this, bla bla... ahaha, they really have grown fond of him!

Talking about leaving, I think I have another year in me before I fly back to homeland! My commitment's are such!

So, after Anba, Nazri, Dorai & Jansen, it's Vasu's turn this time. Left Suresh and myself now, who will be next? Only time will tell that :) Till then, SA will be my temporary home and I am sure I will be meeting those guys soon!
